At the core of FrontRider are three writers. Ideas, well written and/or visualized, are important to us. As a multimedia company we specialize in the creation and production of original content. We seek partnerships with broadcasting entities, film and television production companies, book publishers, non-profits and corporate partners. Creative Philanthropy is another area in which we seek collaboration. Our past achievements frame our ongoing interests. We invite you to take a look at what we've been up to and learn more about where we've come from.

I am a filmmaker and writer
My short films have played at Sundance, the Montreal Comedy Festival, all over Europe and on Canal + television. My documentary The Small Poppies was commissioned by Australia's ABC and features Academy Award winning actor Geoffrey Rush performing at the Dublin theatre festival.
I've also written and developed several screenplays including Hunting for Bison, which was optioned and developed by Australian producer Andrew Mason.
In addition, I've been a recipient of the NSW Film and Television Office's New Writers Grant.
In 2006, I created and produced The 24-Hour Yogathon, which took place on World Peace Day and raised money for the Wayside Chapel, a refuge for Sydney's homeless population.
That same year, I created Once Upon A Deadline, the world's first writing marathon that celebrates laptop literature. Bryce Courtenay, one of Australia's best selling authors, honoured the event by sponsoring a cash prize for burgeoning writers. It is now the opening event for the Writers and Readers Week at the New Zealand International Arts Festival.
In 2007, I created and produced the The Globesity Festival in New York City, a one-week theatre festival exploring consumerism. The festival was opened by legendary activist Dick Gregory and featured 40 artists, all commissioned to produce original work.
Im also the Executive Producer and co-creator of the documentary feature Fat Sick and Nearly Dead, which was filmed all over America.
I'm currently writing a book about the foibles of contemporary love and planning my next documentary and living in Seville, Spain with my wife and our spirited son.

I am writer and editor
I've worked for O, The Oprah Magazine, Ladies, Home Journal, and The Village Voice. I've also written for iVillage, The New York Observer, BUST, NewYorkMagazine.com, the Huffington Post and a host of other publications in the US and abroad, in addition to reporting and researching books as varied as Wayne Barrett and Dan Collinss book, Grand Illusion: The Untold Story of Rudy Giuliani and 9/11 (HarperCollins, 2006) and The Teen Vogue Handbook (Razorbill, 2009).
I'm also a teacher, a new calling that I picked up when my family and I moved to Seville, Spain. My students include rambunctious 7 year-olds that I bribe with caramelos and stickers, and grown people who are more or less immune to such temptations.
I got my start in media at Discovery Networks International, working with the communications and publicity teams for the United Kingdom, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America.

My background is in journalism and advertising. I've owned my own award-winning ad agency and been creative director at multi-national agencies. Awards? I've won a few, including Canne and D&AD silver awards. In 1999, during a slow day at the office, I wrote the synopsis for what would become Rogue Element, my first political thriller. Six novels later, my books are today sold in over 15 countries and published in several languages. I love to write, travel and do stupid, dangerous things. As a FrontRider, my role is to find the edge of an idea and make sure that it's sharp enough to cut.

The work we do at FrontRider is diverse in scope and magnitude. From our writing marathon to the world's largest guitar jam, we like to think of ourselves as cultural visionaries. Here's a glimpse of some of our work to date:

This multi-disciplinary event was created and produced by FrontRider's Robert Mac, along with festival artistic director and performance artist Penny Arcade. Together, they organized a week of performance art, speakers and panel discussions committed to raising awareness of, and sharing solutions to, the danger of "globesity," the over-consumption of all natural elements that sustain life on Earth.
Eight yoga schools, twenty-four hours, from sunrise to dawn The 24 Hour Yogathon invited Sydney's leading yoga schools to pay homage to the city's homeless by taking their practice out into the streets. The money raised from the event went to the Wayside Chapel, which for more than thirty years has provided shelter and opportunity to the underprivileged.
Writing: a reply to life. That's the premise of Once Upon A Deadline, a writing marathon that celebrates laptop literature all over the globe. We work in partnership with international arts festivals, schools and other sponsors.
